Eloise Owens Obituary

Eloise Owens passed away February 27, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House after a long illness. Born March 23, 1939 in Byronville, GA she was the daughter of Clyde and Rosa Lee (McGee) Killings. Eloise worked in production at Harrison Radiator for 35 years retiring in 1999. She volunteered for the Niagara County Jail Ministry, was an usher at Friendship Baptist, Refuge Temple and several other churches, Eloise also did home care in the Lockport area. She also volunteered at the Soup Kitchen and enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and stuffed animals especially Garfield. Eloise was predeceased by her husband James L. Owens in February of 1968.


Eloise is survived by her children Jeanette Robinson of Rochester, Geneva Johnson of Lockport, Aaron (Pam) Owens of North Carolina, Paul Owens, David Owens, Sharon Owens, Carol Owens, Tara Owens all of Lockport and James L. (Lucy) Owens, Jr. of Georgia; grandmother of twenty-five and great grandmother of eighteen; sister of John McKenzie, Billy McKenzie both of Lockport, Bobby McKenzie, Shirley Hollis both of Georgia, Ada M. (Willie James) Felton of Pennsylvania, Evelyn (Paul) Smith and Dorothy Baptiste both of Georgia; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.


Relatives and friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 AM in Faith Tabernacle Church, 5676 Beaatie Ave., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
