Anthony "Tony" Gailie Obituary

Anthony "Tony" J. Gailie passed away April 30,2008.� Born March 20,1919 in Woreck, NY he was the son of John P. and Helen S. Reipold Gailie.� Tony served in the Army during W.W. II serving in Normandy, France and the Rhineland being awarded campaign medals and three Bronze Service Stars.� Upon returning home Tony was an inspector at Harrison Radiator for 31 years retiring in 1978.� He also was a 36 year member of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. and Captain of the Fire Police Association.�� In the 40's and 50's Tony helped his parents run the train and pony rides at Olcott Beach, he was the engineer.� His hobbies were bowling and tinkering.�

Tony is survived by his wife Helen Lute Gailie; father of William (Linda) Gailie of Pendleton, Michael (Gina) Gailie, Gail (Doug) Bisher, Ellen Zastrow all of Lockport, Marion (Mark) Schmitt of Sanborn and the late Paul A. Gailie.� He is also survived by ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and pre-deceased by his granddaughter Laurie Adkins;

Brother of Richard (Nancy) Gailie of Sanborn and the late Leonard Gailie, John Gailie and Frances Tuffillaro.� Tony also leaves two sister in laws Ann Gailie and Gladys Mincklui and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday evening 7 to 9 and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.� Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.� Memorials to the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co., 4631 Cambria-Wilson Road, Lockport, NY� 14094 or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094 in Tony's memory would be appreciated.
