Velma June Forster passed away April 26,2008 in the Niagara Hospice House.�� Born November 18,1923 in Lockport she was the daughter of the late Walter T.C. and Velma L.J. Calhoon Whittard.
Velma worked for 20 years in the Dietary Dept. of Lockport Memorial Hospital as a Dietary Aide.�� She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Angelus Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Oxy-Chem Retirees, Sang in the Lockport Chorale Group, member of the Dale Association and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, she also was a member of the Rock and Minerals Club.
Velma was the wife of the late LaVerne R. Forster whom she married September 29,1962, he passed away in 1994.�� She is survived by her sister Ruth W. (the late James H.) Lanighan of Lockport and brother Walter W. (Carole) Whittard of Tempe, Arizona.� Velma was also the favorite aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.� Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive Lockport, NY 14094 or Lockport Memorial Hospital, 521 East Ave., Lockport, NY 14094 in Velma's memory would be appreciated by the family.
