Obituary of Peter DeAngelo

Peter A. DeAngelo passed away suddenly March 10, 2008 in Cleveland Clinic. Born September 18, 1941 in Lockport he was the son of Patrick and Grace (Blarr) DeAngelo. Peter was a graduate of DeSales Catholic High School and earned his Associates Degree from Bryant & Stratton. He worked as Comptroller for Whiting Roll-Up Door, Sperry Univac/Unysis as a Senior System Analyst and was a residential homebuilder. Peter was an avid fisherman and was proprietor of Pete's Place Fisherman's Guesthouse. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #319, 3rd Degree. He served on the boards for the Newfane Marina, Newfane Tourism, Niagara County Fisheries, treasurer of the United Neighborhood Watch Group and was an instructor for the Environmental Fair Fishing.
Peter is survived by his wife Geraldine M. (Kowalski) DeAngelo of Lockport; father of Lisa (Frank) Thilkey of Appleton, Michelle (David) Ferrazzi of Nevada, Veronica (David) Compton of Lockport and Amy (Wesley) Walker of Burt; grandfather of Bliss, Joelle Thilkey, Olivia, Harrison Compton and Wesley, Jr., Daniel Walker; brother of Patrick DeAngelo, Elizabeth Becklund and Katherine Elsenheimer; brother-in-law of John Kowalski, James (Rosemary) Kowalski and Joseph Kowalski; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 1-5 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Memorials to DeSales Catholic School Charities, 6914 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094 and the Andrea Hope LaRock Foundation of Women's and Children's Hospital at Buffalo, NY.
