Obituary of Chester Buczkowski

Chester J. Buczkowski passed away Saturday February 23, 2008, in the Absolut of Gasport Health Care Center.� Born September 4, 1923, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Czapla Buczkowski.� Chester served in the US Army during World War II where he achieved the Purple Heart Medal.� He worked for the Harrison Radiator for 35 years, retiring in 1983.� Chester was formerly member of the South Lockport Volunteer Company, but was currently a member of the Exempts.� Chester is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theresa Vitone Buczkowski, who he married May 4, 1946.

Beside his wife Chester is survived by his children Paul (Frances) Buczkowski, Joseph (Karen) Buczkowski, Anita (Daniel) Tice, James (Barbara) Buczkowski and John (Judith) Buczkowski.� Grandfather of Lisa (Jonathan) May, Philip (Melanie) Buczkowski, Daniel (Chelsea) Tice, Christopher Buczkowski, Brian Buczkowski, Michael Tuttle, Andrew Buczkowski, Jason Buczkowski, Matthew Buczkowski and Michael Buczkowski; great grandfather of Hailey Wilkins, Kylie Wilkins, Sophie May and Alyssa Tice; brother of the late Sophie (Anthony) Morello, Jean (Stanley) Yanicki, Butch (Catherine) Buczkowski, Mac (Beatrice) Buczkowski and Irene (Walter) Groski; brother in-law to Rose (Frank) Sposito, Francis (Louis) Golanka and Anna (Donald) Currie.� He is also survive by several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation.� A Mass of Christian Burial will be offer Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 5 Saxton Street, Lockport.� Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.� In Lieu of flowers memorials to the South Lockport Fire Company or to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
