I had the pleasure of knowing Jared from a young age as he joined Cub Pack 41 at Washington Hunt School, and I happened to be both his Cub Master and his den leader. Jared always showed an interest in my vocation, Law Enforcement, and he was always eager to ask questions about my job as a Deputy Sheriff with Niagara County and I was just as eager to answer his questions. Jared and my son Kyle were friends through high school, but we both moved away and lost track of Jared until his mother Amy found me on social media and told me Jared's life long dream of becoming a police officer had been met with his employment with Ocala Police Department. We were saddened to see his career shortened so abruptly and tragically. Jared will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I had the honor of meeting Jared during one of the criminal justice classes taught by Professor Veider's at NCCC. We sat directly next to one another. At that time, I knew Jared was going to go very far in life. He was extremely intelligent and an outstanding person. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jared when he became a Security Officer for Securitas and was assigned to my staff. He quickly became one of my best employees and then my closest friend. We both moved on to the Orleans County Jail. During the years we had we made so many memories. We shared several interests between work and motorcycles. I'll always miss him at my side.

Amy, I was saddened to hear of Jared's passing. I don't know if you remember me but I babysat Jared in the evenings for a period of time when he was elementary age. I have always remembered how devoted you were to him - especially when I became a parent. I have often reminisced with my sons about Jared and what a stand-up person he was - even at such a young age. May God get you and your family through this difficult time.
