Obituary of Donald Roeseler

Donald L. Roeseler passed away Sunday January 31, 2010, in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, after a brief illness. Born January 31, 1927 in Lockport, he was the son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Raetz Roeseler. Donald worked for Harrison Radiator for 27 years in the Tool Room retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Wrights Corners Fire Company where he was past chief, the Wrights Corners Exempt Benevolent Association where he was past president, a member of the County Fireman Association, Niagara County and NYS Chiefs Association, Niagara County Fire Advisory Board, the Wrights Corners Sportsmans Club, Town Republican Committee and served on the Lockport Board of Assessment Review. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working in his garden and yard.
Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years Joyce (Schoonens) Roeseler of Lockport; father of Randy (Marian) Roeseler of Lockport and Martin (Lisa) Roeseler of Middleport; grandfather of John, Elisa, Matthew, Zachary, and Jacob; brother of Helen (Richard) Decker and Florence (Late Otto) Balgemann both of Lockport; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Wrights Corners Fire Company, Trinity Lutheran Church, or organization of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
