Krista and Tricia, Your mom was a second mother to me growing up. A piece of her lives on in me. Raising you girls single handedly with unending patience, ceaseless love and daily grace was no easy feat especially in an era where single mothers were a minority. I have so many memories of her over the years most poignantly on Walnut Street devouring her romance novels, taking care of your grandfather, loving on her cats and always leaving a Pizza Oven box on the stove so when we got home we would have something to eat. She gave of herself endlessly and without complaint. Her humor, affection and hospitable kindness towards me in my teenage years were indelible. I am so sorry she is gone from this earth but I take great comfort knowing she is in the arms of God and no longer suffering. As a young person she was my greatest example of resilience and I learned much from her many instances of overcoming adversity, staying the course and having faith in herself. Her slight stature was no disguise for her considerable strength. Praying for you both, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Bill and family. I am so, so, so sorry to lose her. I loved her deeply and I am thankful for the many positive ways she shaped me. How blessed we were!
