Aunt Doris is the most Christ-like person I have ever known. She lived her life in the service of others and serving her Lord. I never heard an unkind word from Doris, who spent her life caring for others. She most certainly has joined her parents and good- lifelong- friends, wrapped in the arms of the angels. Our lives have been enriched by hers.

Miss Dunkleberger was every student's idea of a dream teacher. She was so nice. Now she has gone to join so many of the other Charlotte Cross school angels.

How sad. She was my 3rd grade teacher at Charlotte Cross. I loved her. The closet thing to an angel, or movie star, I ever saw. Grace, style and beauty. Often thought of her over the years. Truly a soul to be missed.

Doris was a most welcoming lady. Absolut was fortunate to have her as an activity aide and my husband and mother were fortunate to have her acquaintance while they were at Absolute. She brought joy and smiles to many helping sometimes to make long dreary days much more interesting and pleasant. She will be missed.

I remember Doris first as a student at Charlotte Cross and then later as a lunch Mom there. She always had a smile and a kind word for you. My Mother was also a lunch Mom there and thought the world of Doris too. RIP

My husband and I have had the privilege of knowing Doris for many years. We worked along beside her at the Middleport Fundamental Baptist Church where she was Treasurer for many years. We became close friends and later care givers for her in the past few months. Even in her time of illness she was still praying for others, she spoke to me of her many school students that still kept in touch and happily of all the years she spent teaching. We will miss Doris very much but know that she is in Heaven with the Lord and all those believers that had gone before her. We can't even begin to know her great joy and peace. We love you Doris and know that we will see you again in Heaven some day.

Miss Dunkleberger was such a wonderful teacher, when I am asked who my favorite teacher was, I always answer Miss Dunkleberger and Mr. Whalen. R.I.P. Miss Dunkleberger, you were so insperational to all your students and loved by so many. They do not have teachers like they used to back in Charlotte Cross Days..
