Amelia A. Scirati, 87, of Lockport, NY passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. She was born on May 12, 1922 in Lockport, NY to Gesidio and Rosa Ascenzo Police. She married Joseph J. Scirati on January 13, 1945 in Lockport. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1991.
Amelia is survived by daughter Mary Jo (Steven) Parish of Washington; 2 grandchildren, Michael (Andrea) Parish, Joan (Joe) Cunnane; 2 great-grandchildren, Alexa and Lilly Parish; 2 sisters, Mary Antonio, Concetta Newton; sister-in-law, Jennie Dieter; and brother & sister-in-law, Rocci and Francis Scirati. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Anthony Police; a daughter, Diane and her parents.
Amelia was an ensign in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1945. She had been the Operating Room Supervisor at Niagara sanitarium and later served as the Director of Nursing at Mount View Hospital in Lockport, NY. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, Zonta International, and St. Anthony's Rosary and Altar Society.
Friends may call Monday from 3 to 8 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at All Saints Parish in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family requests memorials may be made to The Dale Association or The American Red Cross.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at All Saints Parish in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church.
