Carl N. Herbst passed away January 15, 2010 in Absolut of Gasport. Born November 13, 1936 in Lockport he was the son of Leonard and Rachel (nee Hennebohl) Herbst. Carl drove taxi cab for 45 years, ten of which were for his own cab company, Carl's Niagara Cab. He was an avid racecar fan and drove racecars. Carl is survived by his wife Sandy (nee Tucker) Herbst of Lockport; father of Sheila (Steven) Popovich, James (Diane) Farina, Jeffrey (Mary) Herbst and the late Susan (Dan) Dear; grandfather of seven and great grandfather of two.
Friends may call Monday evening 6 to 7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where funeral services will be held at 7 PM.
