Obituary of Donald L. Rose

Donald L. Rose passed away June 20, 2014 in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born in Lockport on May 29, 1929 he was the son of Donald L. and Winifred (Heidenfeld) Rose. Donald served in the US Army from 1946 to 1947 earning the World War II Victory medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was a mailman in Lockport and also a cab driver for Star Cab Co. in Lockport. Donald was a baseball coach, enjoyed dachshunds, and was both an avid NY Yankees and Cleveland Browns fans. He was predeceased by his first wife Nancy (Hallatt) Rose in 1990. Donald is survived by his wife of 22 years Lila (Criswell) Rose of Lockport; father of Dennis (Darlene) Rose of Burt, Mike Rose of Olcott, and Debbie Rose of Colorado; grandfather of Amanda (Josh) Seward and Dustin Rose. He is also survived by Lila's family, Kathy (George) Apolito, Daryl (Mike) St. Onge, David (Judy) St. Onge, Gary (Cheri) St. Onge, Jeffery (Mary) St. Onge, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; predeceased by Joseph St. Onge. Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 23rd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24th at 10 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Rd. &amp; Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum.
