Obituary of Raffaele Mendicino

Raffaele "Ralph" Mendicino, 75, of Lockport passed away on Sunday, June 16th, 2014 at home. Born in Sambiase, Italy he was the son of the late Pasquale and Francesca (Ferriuolo) Mendicino. He lived in Calabria, Italy where he served in the Italian army. Ralph moved to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1965 and worked at Stelco Steel Mill and later moved to Lockport in 1977. He was employed at William Kugler Bro, Inc. for 15 years and then worked as a laborer for the Laborers Union #91. Ralph was the husband of the late Karen (Kugler) Mendicino who passed away March 17, 1996. Ralph is survived by his daughter Candace Theresa Mendicino of Lockport; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Giovanni Mendicino. Relatives and friends may call Friday, June 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Saturday, June 21st at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Mary's Church, 5 Saxton St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
