Obituary of Robert Berhalter

Robert J. "Bud" Berhalter passed away January 7, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born February 19, 1927 in Lockport he was the son of the late Joseph Berhalter and Thelma (Clyde) Coyle McIntyre. Robert served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947 during WW II. He was a Deputy with the Niagara County Sheriff Department for 27 years retiring in June of 1989. Robert enjoyed walking, hiking and camping in Alleghany State Park. He was predeceased by his wife Joanne M. (Judge) Berhalter on January 3, 2002.
Robert is survived by his children Kevin (Andrea) Berhalter, David Berhalter, Thomas (Susan) Berhalter, John Berhalter, Anne (Harold) Harper, Joanne (Jeffery) Chambers all of Lockport, Carol Gavner of Charleston, SC, Teresa (Lee) Krawczyk of Kenmore and the late James Berhalter; father-in-law of Kathryn Berhalter; grandfather of twelve and great grandfather of eight; brother of Donald Berhalter, David Berhalter, Richard (Marie) McIntyre and the late J. William (Anna) Berhalter; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where prayers will be offered Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.
