Obituary of Katherine Helen Meloon

Katherine H. Meloon passed away May 18, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Johns Mills, WV on July 17, 1926 she was the daughter of Thomas and Dorothy (Bailes) Lyons. Katherine worked for 28 years for Niagara County where she was in maintenance retiring in 1994. She was a member of All Saints Parish, the Dale Association, Eagles and RSVP. Katherine enjoyed quilting, rug braiding, and especially being with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Meloon on January 7, 1996. Katherine is survived by her daughter Sue Ann (Richard) Batt of Lockport; grandmother of R. Ryan(Nicole) Batt, Adam K. Batt, Courtney K. (Brent) Nussbaum, Andrew C. Batt; great grandmother of Sophia and Antonina; sister of the late Joseph, John, Thomas Lyons and Mary Ann Mulherron; sister-in-law of Joan Puff and also several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, May 22nd and Friday, May 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 24th at 11 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
