Obituary of Doris H. Marker

Doris H. Marker passed away after a brief illness on May 8, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Pendleton, NY on February 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Esther Werth Schultz. Doris graduated Lockport High School in June 1946, received her RN from Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing in September 1949. She worked at Lockport Memorial Hospital for 33 years, retiring in 1982. She also worked at St. Clare Manor for many years in Lockport, and volunteered at Niagara Hospice. Doris enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Doris married LeRoy E. Marker on November 24, 1949. Sadly, he passed August 2, 1985. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Howard Schultz and Mabel Weyers.
Doris is survived by her sons, James (Nancy) Marker of Port St. Lucie, FL. and David (Helen) Marker of Lockport; grandmother of Timothy (Gina) Marker, Heather (Andrew) Rosenberg of Lockport, Jason (Esther) Marker, Shaun (Maria) Marker, Jonathan (Kristen) Marker, Joshua (Kristen) Marker. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Michael and Hannah Marker, Madisen, Matthew and Benjamin Rosenberg, Zoe Marker, Mason and Elliot Marker.
Friends may call Tuesday 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials to the American Lung Association, 210 John Glenn Drive # 3, Buffalo, NY 14228, would be appreciated by the family.

Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
