Obituary of Florence T. Schafer

Florence T. Schafer passed away Wednesday May 7, 2014, in Newfane Healthcare and Rehab Center. Born in Somerset on March 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma Arnold Mead. Florence was a Deputy for the Niagara County Sheriff's Department for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She is predeceased by her longtime companion Curtis Stebbins. Florence was the mother of Charles (Jackie Ward) Schafer of Lockport, Craig (Mary) Schafer of Tonawanda and Rick (Jill) Schafer of Lockport; grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 11. She was the sister of Charles Mead, Dorothy Chaffee and Charlotte Kuzma. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday May 9th 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Saturday May 10th at 11 AM.
