Obituary of Americo F. Varallo

Please share a memory of Americo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
A celebration of life. Americo Varallo passed from this world on April 27, 2014 in the company of all of his family at his bedside. Americo grew up in Italy after being born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He met his future wife, Francesca, at the age of 17. As a young man, he immigrated to Argentina to work as a printer and was promptly inducted into the army. His wife joined him one year later and they started a family. They immigrated to the United States in 1955 to pursue the American dream which they accomplished. They produced three doctors and a teacher who in turn produced 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Americo's prime enjoyment and focus in life was his family. Nothing else mattered. He and Franca were blissfully married for 66 glorious years. He was a Eucharistic Minster and active member of St. Anthony's and St. Mary's Churches for many years. He will be joining his parents Nicholas and Florinda in heaven as well as his sister, Loretta, his brother Anthony and sister in law Cornelia. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded in love by all of his progeny and their progeny. His life was a life lesson for all of us. Survived by his beautiful, loving wife, Francesca, Dr. Nicholas Varallo (Tamre), Dr. Mark A. Varallo (Kelly), Dr. Patrick A. Varallo (Lori) and his beloved daughter, Cristina Finnerty (Michael). He adored his grandchildren, David, Americo (Deanna), Dr. Cristina Varallo (Dr. Jamie Rodriguez), Dominic, Francesca Sims (Willie), Alexander, Elisabeth, Olivia, Markie, Emma, and Steven. The great-grandchildren were also gems in his life, Penelope, Nino, Sofia, Anthony, and Francesco. He was also loved by his nieces and nephews, Florinda, Rosa, Tanino, Sylvia, Chris, Michael David, and all of their children. Friends may call Tuesday April 29, 2014, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY 14094. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum.
