Obituary of Richard Coulson Turner

Richard Coulson Turner passed away Saturday March 29, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on March 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine James Turner. Richard served in the US Army from 1952-1954. He retired from the Niagara County Highway Department for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Dale Association and the B. Leo Dolan Post 410, American Legion. Richard enjoyed fishing, traveling, sports and working in his yard. Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary (nee Rose) Turner, who he married May 17, 1968. Step-Father of Daniel R. (Anita) Tice, Jr. and Sandy (late Dean) Kerrison, both of Lockport; father of Diane (Bob) Nelson of Lockport and Richard (Patricia) Turner of PA.; grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 9. Richard was the brother of Robert "Bud" (Jackie) Turner of Lockport, Norma Jean (late Robert) Dibley of CA., Linda (David) Stevens of Barker and the late Donald Turner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday March 31st 4 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Tuesday April 1st at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
