Obituary of Charles W. Pomeroy

Charles W. Pomeroy, Jr. passed away Saturday March 22, 2014 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Lockport on October 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Marie Zenter Pomeroy. Charles retired in 1990, from Harrison Radiator. He is predeceased by his wife Janet (nee Slattery) Pomeroy. Charles is survived by his children Jacklyn Brauer, Thomas Pomeroy and James Pomeroy; grandfather of Christopher Wiedenbeck, Ericka Pomeroy, Talon Pomeroy and Valerie Pomeroy; great grandfather of Jenna Wiedenbeck, Skylar Pomeroy and J.J. Pomeroy. Charles is also survived by his loving companion of 22 years, Geraldine Wittcop and her children Kim (Sue) Wittcop Sr., Tammy (Rich) Groff, Dana Wittcop and Virginia Zimmerman and her 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Charles is predeceased by his sisters Betty Korff and Gertrude Van Buren. Friends may call Tuesday, 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
