Obituary of Violet Whitehead

Violet J. Whitehead passed away March 13, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on June 12, 1927 she was the daughter of Irving and Elida (Brewer) Criswell. Violet worked in production for Harrison Radiator, was a member of the Navy/Marine Club, Redman Club, American Legion, VFW and UAW and enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Whitehead on March 2, 2009.
Violet is survived by her daughter Diane (Philip) Sansone of Lockport; step-mother of Sharon (Terry) Maines of Lockport, Jeanette (Fred) Hales of Florida and the late Steven Whitehead and Carol Whitehead; grandmother of Bobbie (Charles) Garlock, Kendra (Matthew) DiTullio, Casey Camarra, Billie Jo Diel, Steven Maines, Jenine Hale and Freddy Hale; great grandmother of Charles Garlock, Derrick Garlock, Jacob Garlock, Cory Sicard, Ryan Hayes, Matthew DiTullio, Angelina DiTullio, Kaitlin Scirto, Nicholas Diel, and Jesse Diel; great-great grandmother of Dracis Sicard; sister of Lila (Don) Rose, Velva (Walter) VanBuren, Jenette (Gene) Naish, Marshall (Rose) Criswell and the late Doris Hick, Marjorie Wruck, Robert Criswell, Irving Criswell, Rachael Enzina, Dennis Criswell, and Emma Criswell; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, March 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Prudden & kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20th at 11 AM. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum.
