Obituary of Mary Laufer

Mary Ellen Laufer of Lockport, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Christmas morning.
Born June 25, 1934, to Marlin and Dorothy (Crowe) Ryan, Mary was the sister of the late M. Hugh and William Ryan. She graduated in 1952 from St. Joseph's Academy in Lockport. She worked for Niagara County Social Services as a caseworker for 20 years. Mary was a member of St. Anthony's Church and later St. John the Baptist Church in Lockport.
Most of all, Mary was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dedicated to her family, and her love for them showed in everything she did.
Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, David; as well as their children and spouses: Jan & Ed Shipley, Maggie & Robin Ritz, Ellen & Peter Strobel, Martin Laufer, and Lisa & William Moeller. She will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren: Katie & Chris Reith; Erin & Brian Shipley; Kari & Thomas Ritz; Megan, Ryan, Nathan, Bradley, and Noah Strobel; Kayla, Erika, and Jillian Moeller; as well as her sisters-in-law Minnie Lupo, and Patricia and Joan Laufer.
Friends and family may call on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where prayers will be offered Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Donations can be made in Mary's name to one of her favorite organizations: St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

prayers will be offered Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church.

Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
