Obituary of Ronald E. Vogt

Ronald E. Vogt passed away Sunday February 23, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Edson Tiffany and Eleanor Carol Kasprzyk Vogt. Ronald worked with the Recreation Department in Niagara Falls for 4 years, Twin Fair for 2 years and the worked for the Lockport Police Department for 36 years, retiring as a Traffic Captain. He enjoyed bowling, participating in several ABC Bowling Tournaments, with his many treasured bowling friends. He also collected coins, enjoyed weightlifting and watching football and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Ron also enjoyed planning and arranging all of the annual family vacations, he loved the sun and took pride in getting his yearly tan. Ronald is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandra Lee (nee Tobey) Vogt, who he married on May 24, 1974 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Niagara Falls. He was the father of Donna Lynn Vogt and Michael (Angela) Vogt and grandfather of Christopher and Camron Connell. Ron is predeceased by his aunt Celia Sage, cousins, Sandy (Michael) Pellish and Bill (Joanne) Skyler. He was the beloved "Daddy-Do" to his cats, Smokey Joe Jr., Sonny Joe and the late Smokey Joe and Missy Mittens. Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where prayers will be offered Thursday morning at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in ST. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY 14094. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Church or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
