Obituary of William H. Hughes
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William (Bill) Hughes was born October 21, 1957. Esophageal cancer took his body but not his soul. Nothing could do that, he had more heart and spirit than anyone. His life was full of selfless acts of kindness toward all beings, always promoting good will, fair play, no injuries and all winners. Bill loved deeply, played hard and lived life with tremendous joy in simple pleasures. He preached his heartfelt beliefs and stood behind true goodness and honesty. Loyalty was part of who he was, faithful and unpretentious. You could often find him out on a sports field with many friends and family, it was hard to miss that vivacious hearty voice and laughter. He is joining in heaven his father and father-in-law: Edward Hughes and Ronald Farner and many other friends and relatives. He goes there before his family: Mary Hughes, Nancy Farner, Debra Hughes, Andrea Frazer and her family, Brian, Brian and Ethan, William Hughes and his family, Jessica, Jackson and William (Liam), Krysta (Golden) Herrick and her family Logan & Katelyn, Edward Hughes and his family, Kim, Colin, Kerry and Kelly, Andrew Hughes and his family, Darcee, Thomas and Jessica, Samantha and Braeden. Bill has many relatives and even more friends that will miss him tremendously. We will await our turn to join him on his new team of God's All Stars where he will undoubtedly organize a game in our honor. Until then, we welcome you all to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church on East Avenue in Lockport at 1:00 on Saturday, February 22nd in a celebration service to rejoice in his life. We will be honoring Bill in the summer with a team soccer bench to be dedicated to him at the soccer field. If you wish to help purchase the bench, we would be honored to receive your gift instead of flowers. Threes.
