Obituary of Beatrice Rummell Wardour

On January 23 2014, Beatrice Fannie Rummell Wardour, 93 of Lockport, NY began the journey she had been preparing for her entire life. She goes to meet her sons: James, Stephen, Gregory and Paul. Beatrice was the daughter of the late Clarence and Fannie Rummell of Buffalo, New York. Surviving Beatrice are her sons Lynn, John (Joy), and Joel (Jeanne)Wardour and daughters Lois (Jerry) Stoeffhaas and Lisa (Mark) DuFore, former husband of 50 years, Reginald Elliott Wardour, as well as her beloved 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Beatrice was a devout member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Lockport. She was active in many organizations including Holt International Adoption Agency, AFS, Girl Scouts of America and PTA. Beatrice's passions included homemaking, her faith, music and the visual arts. She took great pride in caring for her family and having been a licensed cosmetologist. Beatrice passes on her heartfelt love of children and unwavering belief in the importance of education.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, Jan. 25th from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 27th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.
