Richard N. "JR" Strauss, Jr. passed away unexpectedly at home on January 18,2014. Born in Lockport, NY on February 8,1953 he was the son of the late Richard N. (the late Sherry) Strauss and Anita A. Orchard of St. Louis, Missouri. "JR" was a former construction worker and was a bartender for many years. He was a member of the VFW, enjoyed watching sports and was avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. In addition to his mother he is survived by two daughters Angela and Jennifer; brother of Paul Strauss of St. Louis MO; nephew of Victor L. (the late Virginia) Cleri of Lockport. He was also the cousin of Charles P. (Crystal) Cleri, Claudia L. (the late James W. Jr.) Perkins, Christa S. (Gary P. Jr.) Ray all of Lockport NY and Carla D. (Lee) Terryberry of New Castle, IN. He was predeceased by his cousin Curt V. Cleri in July 2013. There will be no prior visitation. "JR" chose to donate his body to the University of Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program for Medical Research. A private burial at a later date at the convenience of the family.
