Obituary of Mary E. Pitiss

Mary E. Pitiss, of Lockport, passed away January 6, 2014 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born in Buffalo on May 29, 1945 she was the daughter of William T. and Celestine (Work) Hamilton. Mary worked for the VNA where she was a medical records clerk for 16 years retiring in 2008. She enjoyed camping, knitting, and crocheting. Mary volunteered at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and was a lifelong girl scout.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Roger Pitiss of Lockport; cherished mother of Eileen Pitiss of West Seneca, James Pitiss of Lockport, Gary Pitiss of Wheatfield, Carolyn (Ray) Rustowicz of Hamburg, and Sharon (Lars) Hansen of Fairbanks, AK; beloved grandmother of Nicholas, Brittany, Angelika, Timothy, Gary, Matthew, and Rorik; beloved great grandmother of Braydin; caring sister of Tom (Gail) Hamilton of Rochester, Carol (John) Galus of St. Louis, MO and Joan Stoddard of West Seneca; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
