Obituary of Glenda Reardon

Glenda R. Reardon, age 60, died at home surrounded by her husband and children, on January 1, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John. In addition to her husband of 38 years, Glenda is survived by their children, Ryan (Melissa), Michael (Alesha) and Kimberly (Paul). Their five beautiful grandchildren, so cherished by Glenda and John, are Jacob, Logan, Luke, Zinnea, and Jack. Glenda's father George Lindquist, predeceased her. She is survived by her mother Doratha (George) Bridenbaker, sister Susan (Alan) and brother Melvin (Laurie), and many nieces and nephews.
Born Glenda R. Lindquist in Jamestown, NY she was a 1975 State University at Oneonta graduate, where she and her husband met. Glenda was a registered dietician and worked most recently for 29 years at the Niagara County Office for the Aging. Glenda was well known for her compassion and love of helping senior citizens. Glenda was very active in the dietetics profession, serving as past president of the WNY Dietetic Association, NYS Aging Services Dieticians, NYS Association of Nutrition & Aging Programs, Meals-on-Wheels of America, and many more. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rosary & Altar Society, and AM Lockport Toastmasters. Glenda especially enjoyed family vacations, traveling to visit grandchildren, gardening, cooking, hiking, sewing, and swimming.
Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 6, 2014. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Niagara Cerebral Palsy, 9812 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
