Obituary of Frank Urtel

Frank H. Urtel passed away December 17, 2009 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born February 6, 1946 in Lockport he was the son of the late Ransom and Louise (nee Horn) Urtel. Frank worked as a photographer and writer for the Seven Flags Auto Racing News and what he is most remembered as being the owner of the Niagara All Season Sports where sewing Varsity Letters and patches on high school jackets. He was an avid sponsor for the Anjo League teams, and avid NASCAR fan and was a member of the NRA. Frank spent the last three years in the Newfane Rehab and Health Care Center where he was loved and enjoyed by fellow patients and workers. Frank is survived by his sister Carol (Ron) Greisser of Newfane and his sister-in-law Mary Urtel of Lockport. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul Urtel and Donald (late Shirley) Urtel. Frank is also survived by his two nieces Lori (Paul) Brauer of Lockport and Barbara (James) Luckman of Gasport five great nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation.
