Obituary of Catherine McCartney

Catherine M. McCartney went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Saturday December 28, 2013, in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls on April 27, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Gough Hunt. Catherine worked as a personal care aid for St. Claire Manor in Lockport retiring in 1995. She enjoyed BINGO, reading and especially spending time with her family.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hugh McCartney; mother of Daniel (Amy) McCartney of Long Island, Linda (Ruben) Coffey of Lockport, Patricia (Michael) Darlak of Lockport, Michael (Michelle) McCartney of Lockport, Mary (Scott) Nelson of Amherst, Ann (Sara Holt) McCartney of Kenmore and Brian (Jackie Rogge) McCartney of North Tonawanda; grandmother of Andrew Truesdell, Jolene Coffey, Nicholas McCartney, Tyler Nelson, Colin Nelson, Michael Darlak, Jennifer Darlak, Hannah Darlak, Jacob Darlak, Christopher McCartney, Lillian McCartney and Shea McCartney. Catherine was the sister of Mary Lech of Niagara Falls and David Hunt of Lockport.
Friends may call Thursday January 2, 2014, 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 AM, in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 AM, in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport.
