Obituary of Richard Main

Richard V. Main passed away Thursday December 19, 2013, in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Kingston, NY on January 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Charles and Mabel Myer Main. Richard served in the US Army from 1943 until 1945, spending time in China, Burma, India and Calcutta. He was an electrician for Simonds Saw and Steel for 26 years, retiring in 1982. Richard was a member of the Red Jacket Lodge #646 F&AM and the Elks Lodge #41, he was also a past president for the Retirees Golf League for 10 years. Richard was an avid golfer and Bills, Sabres and Yankees Fan. He is predeceased by his wives, Marguerite (nee Lane), Ruth (nee Scharlau), Gloria (nee Greenauer) and Virginia (nee Ferris) and his brother Charles Main.
Richard was the father of Rea (Cherrie) Main of Fairport, Cheryl (James Parmalee) Landers of Lockport, Karen Williams of Jacksonville, FL. and Fae Schielke of Lockport; grandfather of Tricia (Tim) Bressler, Scott Landers, Sean Landers, Michael Main and Stephanie (David) Yautzy; great grandfather of Kaylee Bressler, Megan Bressler, Hunter Bressler and Zack Landers. Richard is also surived by his sister Mildred Fulks of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Monday afternoon at 12 PM. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
