Obituary of Harry Green

Harry I Green passed away December 17, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on December 28, 1931 he was the son of William and Rachel (Furlong) Green. Harry served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 during Korea receiving the Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked in production at Simonds Saw & Steel and also for the City of Lockport in the waste water department. Harry was a member of the B. Leo Dolan American Legion Post 410, AOH and the VFW Post 2535.
Harry is survived by his wife Phyllis (O'Byrne) Green of Lockport; father of Kevin W. (Maureen) Green of Long Island, NY, John D. Green, Kathleen M. (Kevin) Lawniczak, Mary E. (Ronald) Dernbach all of Lockport and the late James R. Green; grandfather of nine and four great grandchildren; brother of the late John Green and Mary R. (John) Oates; also survived by several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Dec. 19th from 7-9 PM and Friday, Dec. 20th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Saturday, Dec. 21st at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Market Street Art Center, 247 Market St., Lockport, NY 14094 or to St. John Outreach, c/o St. John the Baptist, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
