Obituary of Dorothy Weir

Dorothy M. Weir passed away November 30, 2013 in ElderWood at Williamsville in Amherst. Born in Niagara Falls on March 7, 1928 she was the daughter of Gordon and Jean (Pratt) Jacobs. Dorothy graduated from Buffalo State earning her Master's degree in Education. She worked for the Niagara-Wheatfield, Lockport, Oakfield-Alabama, and Victor School Districts where she taught Home Economics. Dorothy was a life member of First Presbyterian Church, the Lockport Town and Country Club, volunteered with Meals-On-Wheels, a member of Women's College Club, Garden Club, and the Kenan Center. She enjoyed golfing, gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 59 years Theodore Weir of Lockport; son James (Dana) Weir; two grandchildren Alex and Katie Weir; sister of Margaret Lafferty of Florida and the late William and Arnold Jacobs. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to be celebrated Saturday, December 14th at 2 PM in the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380 would be appreciated. <h3>Visitation</h3> There will be no prior visitation. <h3>Services</h3> Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to be celebrated Saturday, December 14th at 2 PM in the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport.
