Obituary of Herbert Carpenter

Herbert L. Carpenter passed away Saturday November 23, 2013, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport. Born May 28, 1920, he was the son of the late Ernest and Matilda Green Carpenter. Herb served in the US Army during World War II, and worked as a welder for 33 years at Emil Von Dungan. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed playing softball and was inducted to the Western New York Softball Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed fixing things and LaPort's Restaurant. Herb was the father of Wayne Carpenter and Coleman Carpenter, both of Lockport and grandfather of Matt (Jennilee) Carpenter and Corey Carpenter. He was the brother of Hazel Lake of Albion and the late Elva Johnson and Florence Yates. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. <h3>Visitation</h3> Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
