Shirley D. Oates passed away November 17, 2013 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Rehab & Health Care Center. Born in Lockport on March 3, 1927 she was the daughter of Frank and Marian (Taylor) Duethorn. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Oates in 2001. She was the sister of Barbara D. Burns of Lockport and the late Sr. Mary Elizabeth, SSMN and Jeannine D. Slate. Shirley is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral mass was held at the convenience of the family. Interment was in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Sisters of St. Mary Infirmary, 241 Lafayette Ave., Buffalo, NY 14213 would be appreciated. Visit www.pruddenandkandt.com.
