Obituary of Scott James

Scott P. James, 49, our loving son, brother and uncle of Lockport, NY entered into rest Saturday November 16, 2013 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born on July 19, 1964 in Lockport, NY, the son of Veronica (Volkots) and the late Donald James. He was a 1982 graduate of DeSales Catholic High School and Niagara Orleans BOCES. Scott was an electrician for Modern Electric for many years. Scott loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends and enjoyed anything that took him outdoors. He especially loved riding his bike at dusk, which allowed him time for peaceful reflection. Scott looked forward to vacations because he loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Scott was an unusually kind soul, a man who thought of others before himself. He touched the hearts of all those around him, his family and friends, even his doctors and nurses. His quiet strength helped sustain his family through difficult months, and his optimism was unfailing. His love of life was contagious, and his appreciation of the simple things made others appreciate them more too. Scott was compassionate and strong, humble and kind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Scott was predeceased by his father Donald F. James. He is survived by his loving family; his mother; Roni James; brother; Chris James, sisters; Kim (Ted) Przybyl of Lockport and Marcy (Rich) Gunthert of Franklin, TN, his nieces; Jamie (Nate) Jackson of Medina, NY, Katie Przybyl of Lockport, Marisa and Megan Gunthert of Franklin, TN, Scott is also survived by his aunts, uncle, cousins and many friends. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 22nd from 11-12:30pm in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, where prayers will be offered at 12:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday afternoon, November 22nd at 1PM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport, NY. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
