Obituary of Eugene Smith

Eugene D. Smith passed away November 17, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on May 3, 1932 he was the son of William and Ruth (Noble) Smith. Eugene served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1953 serving in the USS Tidewater. He worked for the Lockport School District where he was a custodian for Charlotte Cross and John Pound Elementary Schools. Eugene was a life member of the PTA, UAW Travel Club, collected yearbooks and bottles and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 58 years Beverly (Ingram) Smith of Lockport; father of Craig (Mariangela) Smith, Roxanne Hicks both of Lockport, Kim (late Ron) Tolsma of Colorado Springs, CO and the late Paul G. Smith; grandfather of Mark (Brittany) Smith, Matthew Smith, Lindsey (Kristin) Hicks, and Brian Tolsma; great grandfather of Angelica Tolsma, Adam Tolsma, Sophia Smith and Sonya Smith; brother of Lois Parsons of Wrights Corners, Andrea (George) Gleason of Las Vegas, NV, the late Eleanor Nubelo, Virginia Caraco and Paul Smith; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, November 21st from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Visit www.pruddenandkandt.com
