Obituary of Gary Drake

Gary D. Drake, 64, passed away peacefully with family and loved ones by his side on November 8, 2013. Born in Medina, NY on May 9, 1949, Gary was the son of the late Glenn and Loretta Chase Drake. At an early age Gary started out helping his family farm and his hard work ethic continued throughout his life being employed with several companies within the local Western NY area. He retired from Rapids Mobile Estate and Suburban Acres after 25 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with family, friends and his dog "Peanut". He always enjoyed offering a helping hand. Gary is survived by his wife Barbara (Schleidt-Ritz) Drake; father of Michelle (Eugene) Elson, Donna (Joe) Schultz, Gary (Yvonne) Drake, Robert (Kelly) Drake and his step daughter Jessica Ritz. He was the brother of Glenn (Marsha) Drake, Carol Frasier, John (late Patricia) Drake, Billy (Joyce) Drake and the late George Drake. Gary is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Saturday morning at 10 AM. Inurnment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
