Obituary of Bernice Westcott

Bernice S. Westcott passed away Thursday October 31, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane. Born in Lockport on May 31, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Albert Stover and Marion Schrieber. Bernice worked as a beautician in various shops in Lockport and Medina for 30 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport, where she was a Ladies Aide. Bernice also was a member of the Mother's Club in Lockport and enjoyed gardening and had an excellent skill of painting fine china and plaques. Bernice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Westcott of Gasport; mother of Candie Newman of Va. and Darcie (Tom) Homme of Lockport. She was the grandmother of Kyle (Jill) Newman, Benjamin (Nicole) Homme, Christopher (Ashley) Homme and Tara Newman. Bernice is also survived by her great grandson, Connor Newman. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Avenue, Gasport, NY 14067 or to Equistar, 2199 Fuller Rd., P.O.
