Obituary of Robert Savakinas

Robert M. Savakinas passed away October 30, 2013 in the Odd Fellow Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born July 25, 1948 in Buffalo, NY and grew up on Alden, NY, he was the son of the late Alexander and Alberta (Thomas) Savakinas. Robert retired after 28 years as a laborer at Harrison Radiator, Div. of G.M. in 1995. He enjoyed woodworking, stamp collecting , fly fishing, camping and enjoyed his family. Robert is the husband of Linda Russell Savakinas; father of Michele (Jon) Kuwik of Lancaster, Joseph (Mary Konitzer) Savakinas of Akron, Lisa (Victor) Gonzalez of the USAF serving in England and Sharon Savakinas of Portland, ME. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jon R.Kuwik,II, Emily Gonzalez, Danika Gonzalez, Kayla Kuwik and Judah Hartzell; brother of Alexander (Gwen) Savakinas of PA Gerald (Diane) Savakinas of Alden. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews and was the son-in-law of the late George and Jeanette Russell; brother-in-law of Carol (Richard) LaGrange, Catherine (Mike Tice) Emo, Patricia Chiddo, Thomas (Patricia) Russell, Michael (Ella) Russell, Janice Russell and the late Daniel and Wayne Russell. Relatives and friends may call Sunday November 3, 2013 from 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday November 4, 2013 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY.
