Obituary of Frances Hannigan

Frances T. Hannigan passed away Thursday October 24, 2013 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born October 26, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Clara Moran Tracey. Frances attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and Business School. Frances married James Hannigan on June 21 1939. She was a Court Attendant in Niagara County and Family courts, an Assistant Matron for Niagara County Jail and helped run the Hannigan Family store for over 35 years.
Frances was a lifelong resident of Lockport and lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers Chapter 52, St. Joseph's Academy Alumni, St. Patrick's and De Sales Mother's Clubs, Lockport Democratic Women's Club. Frances was also a member the Board of Directors of Lockport Memorial Hospital and was recognized as the Eagles Club Citizen of the Year in 1970.
Frances was the mother of Thomas, Patrick, Joseph (Mary Anne Aversa), Terence (Cheryl Caruso), Mary (late William) Kenney, Ann (Carl) Brittain and the late James Jr. and Sgt. Timothy Hannigan. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Frances was the sister of the late Timothy, Harold, Lorraine Lawson, Cecile Cole and Clara Coates. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday October 25th, 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday October 26th at 1 PM in All Saints R.C. Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorials to the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, DeSales Catholic School or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday October 26th at 1 PM in All Saints R.C. Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport.

Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
