Obituary of Eileen (Roberts) Hornquist

Eileen R. (Roberts) Hornquist passed away October 20, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Buffalo on March 24, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Jack and Betty Jean (Redhead) Roberts. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband Verner M. Hornquist on September 30, 2005. She is the loving mother of Shane P. (Sarah) Hornquist and Joshua D. (Connie) Hornquist; cherished sister of Mary Kay Roberts, Donald (Stephanie) Roberts, the late Jack Roberts and Ruth Redhead; awesome aunt of Lance, Kirk, Mike and Sean; also survived by several great nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-law of Paul &amp; Betty Hornquist and LeRoy &amp; Shirley Neeper; dear friend of Judy Brown, Chubs, Kathy M., Kim, Marion, Sharon and so many more Women of the Moose; "Momma" to "all her other kids" Miah, Lu, Tyler, Denise, Donald, Melissa, Ryan, Justin, Laura, Shell, Kelly, and all the others she loved so well! Eileen was very active, being a member of the Lock City Moose Lodge 617, Women of the Moose Chapter 382, and past member of the Niagara County Pool League. She worked as a waitress and bar maid for many years at Ted's Dog House on Dick Road and volunteered at the Moose Lodge. Eileen was also a horse groomer at the Batavia Downs, Buffalo Academy, Pompeno Park, Florida, The Meadows in Pennsylvania and also was the receptionist at Dr. Gilkar's office. She loved to travel visiting 45 states, Paris, France, Calgary Stampede, Alberta, Canada (twice), lived on the beach for five months on Baja, Mexico, also lived in San Francisco, San Jose and San Diego, CA, Pompeno, FL and Pennsylvania. Eileen enjoyed dancing, singing, playing pool, cards, Yahtzee, Scrabble, riding horses, fishing, camping, and canoe trips in total wilderness. She felt at home in any casino and was pretty good at beer-pong and ka-boom. "I had a wonderful life, with great family, good friends and a fantastic ride! No Regrets! I love You All! In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
