Obituary of Robert Aikin

Robert C. Aikin passed away Saturday October 19, 2013 in Beechwood Continuing Care. Born in Buffalo on February 15, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude Hyland Aikin. Richard worked at Chevrolet in Tonawanda for 30 years, retiring as a foreman in 1982. He enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and playing cards.
Robert is the husband of Patricia McCormick Aikin and the late Virginia Barnes Aikin who passed away in 1997; father of Barbara (Stanley) Gembala of Clarence Ctr., Pamela (Frank) Donnelly of Ontario, Canada, Virginia "Ginny" (David) Miller, Becky (Daniel) Friedman of Clarence and Laura (Gianluca) Pojagi of Italy; grandfather of Michael, Karen, Linda, Sheila, Michele, DJ, Rachel, Lisa, Brian, Dana, Marcello, Alexa and Virginia. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; brother of Patricia (Lloyd) Brosius of AL, Richard Aikin of TX and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.
