Obituary of Ruth Sims

Ruth Cannon Sims passed away September 19, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House.Ruth was born September 7, 1926 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Herbert and Genevieve Owens Cannon. Ruth was a graduate of St. Joseph's Business School in 1946 and worked as a Dental Assistant under Dr. Sippel for 40 years, retiring in 1999. Ruth was a lifetime and third generation member of Christ Episcopal Church, also a 68 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter 73, and member of the Dale Association. Ruth was the loving wife of the late Harry "Louie" Sims who passed away March 11,2005; mother of Daniel (Linda) Sims of Warner-Robins, GA and Lucinda (Cathy) Dempesy-Sims of Buffalo; grandmother of Samantha (Casey) Carden of Warner-Robins, GA and Patrick Cornell of Buffalo; great grandmother of Hunter, Cassady and Payton Carden; was the sister of the late John Cannon and is the sister in law of Betty Cannon and Gladys Kelkenberg and also aunt to several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Saturday September 21, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home. The Eastern Star Services will be held immediately following at 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 22, 2013 at 2 PM in the Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Road and Fieldcrest Dr. Lockport, NY 14094. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the Church would be greatly appreciated by the family. <h3>Visitation</h3> Relatives and friends may call Saturday September 21, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM.
