Obituary of Mary Forsyth

Mary A. Forsyth passed away Saturday December 5, 2009 in Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport. Born in Newfane on April 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Frances Bouden Britt. Mary graduated from Newfane High School and attended St. Joseph's Academy Business School, where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She worked for the UAW Hall Local 686 as a bartender for 27 years retiring in 1997. Mary is a lifetime member of the Elks Club, Navy/Marine Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed playing cards, watching the Bills and Sabres and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband John A. Forsyth, who passed away March of 1994.
Mary was the mother of Linda (late John) Gargalino of Burt, John (Judy) Forsyth of N.C., Becky Forsyth of MO., David Forsyth of Syracuse, Ellen (Marc) Watkins and Amy (Louis) Juliano both of Lockport and the late Thomas Forsyth. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mary was the sister of Bill (Diane) Britt and Elizabeth (late Bob) Anderson both of Lockport, Marcia Porter of Newfane and the late Frank and Lucille Britt. She is also survived several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday 3 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Wednesday morning at 11AM. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. Memorials to Niagara Hospice and Niagara County SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
