Obituary of Raymond Dreher

Raymond E. Dreher passed away December 4, 2009 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born June 6, 1927 in Lockport he was the son of Frederick and May Belle (nee Yung) Dreher. Ray served in the US Marine Corp from 1946 to 1947 and then from 1950 to 1951. He worked for Harrison Radiator where he was a Manufacturing Engineer retiring in 1985. Ray was an active member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the Outreach Program of the Church. He also was active in Exchange Club, Marine Corp League and B. Leo Dolan Post American Legion, Secretary for the Terry's Corners Fire Company, member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of which he received the Ozanam Award, Soup Kitchen and Erie Canal Group Work Camp. When not involved in the many civic projects, he did find time to enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing, wood working and enjoyed helping out at the Dale Center as a tax advisor for the seniors during the tax season. He was predeceased by his wife Regina (nee Belfield) Dreher in 1988. Ray is survived by his children Paul (melody) Dreher of Frewsburg, Timothy (Kathy) Dreher of Williamsville, Wayne (Marguerite) Dreher of Hamlin, NY, Kathleen (David) Huber of Gasport and Laurie (Mark) Targus of Middleport; grandfather of eleven and great grandfather of nine; brother of the late Frederick, Donald, Louise Dreher and Violet Snyder; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ray was also the dear friend of Pat Whitmore and the late Bernadette Anderson. Friends may call Tuesday evening 7 to 9 and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials in Ray's memory may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society % St. John the Baptist Church. <h3>Visitation</h3> Friends may call Tuesday evening 7 to 9 and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street. <h3>Services</h3> Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in St. John the Baptist R.C.
