Obituary of Lea Bernardi

Lea E. Bernardi passed away Saturday August 31, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Buffalo on February 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Olivo and Maria Tonel Cappellazzo. Lea owned and operated Bernardi's Rapid Mart for 16 years, retiring in 1985. Lea also sold Real Estate and was a seamstress. Lea enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband Serafino "Sam" J. Bernardi, who passed away July 4, 1996. Lea was the mother of John (Susan) Bernardi, David O. (Debra) Bernardi, Randy R. (Late Veronica), Bernardi and Lorraine R. (John) Tomaino; grandmother of Megan (Timothy) Menges, Erik (Michelle) Bernardi, Kristin, Casey and Matthew Bernardi, Ryan and Gregory Bernardi, Nicholas and Alyssa Tomaino; great grandmother of Ethan and Luke Menges, Anthony and Paloma Bernardi and Trenton Bernardi. Lea was the sister in-law of Alfio Tiveron and Rosalie Cappellazzo; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Lea is predeceased by her siblings Darly Tiveron and Leo Cappellazzo. Friends may call Thursday September 5, 2013, 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Friday morning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lockport.
