Obituary of Ruth Dencker

Ruth Kelsey Dencker passed away August 15, 2013 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born in Corning, NY on December 7, 1921 she was the daughter of Earl H. and Nellie E. (Bucher) Gleason. Ruth graduated from Northside High School, Corning Class of 1939 and went onto to the Rochester Dental Dispensary, School for Dental Hygienists, Rochester, NY Class of 1941. She worked as a dental hygienist in the Buffalo and Lockport areas for several years prior to raising her family. Ruth enjoyed camping and boating for years on the St. Lawrence River with her three boys and late husband Dr. Harold Kelsey. She also enjoyed summer living in the Adirondacks with her late husband Hans Dencker and their Seventh Lake Camp and being a snow bird with him during the winter months in Florida. Ruth enjoyed traveled with her Hans Dencker to Cancun, Germany, London, Swiss Alps, and the Canadian Rockies. She will always be remembered as being a loving mother, wife, and bringing the families together for holiday celebrations. Ruth was predeceased by her husband's Dr. Harold D. Kelsey in 1964 whom she married in 1942 and Hans W. Dencker in 2007 whom she married in 1971. Ruth is survived by her three sons, Gary (Ginnia) Kelsey, Stephen (Susan) Kelsey, and David (Susan) Kelsey; grandson of Joel (Meredith) Kelsey; step-mother of David (Nancy) Dencker, Janet (late Sanford) Smith, Karen (Tom) Manion, and Diane (Terry) Cope; also survived by several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 23rd at 11 AM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Memorials to the National MS Society, Upstate New York Chapter, Donor Relations Center, 1650 South Avenue, Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14620-3901, would be appreciated by the family. <h3>Visitation</h3> There will be no prior visitation. <h3>Services</h3> A memorial service will be held Friday, August 23rd at 11 AM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home.
