Betty Day, 86 passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013. Born July 13, 1927 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of Carl and Annie Fooks. Mrs. Day worked 25 years as a secretary for local insurance agencies and 22 years for the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors. She was involved in many organizations throughout her life including the Business, Professional and Industrial Women&amp;#39;s Club, the Harrison Women&amp;#39;s Chorale Group, the UAW Retiree&amp;#39;s and Travel Clubs, The Dale Association and Travel Clubs and the Newfane Golden Agers. She was a long-time member of St. Mary&amp;#39;s Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends along with traveling, reading, country music, church dinners, collecting angels and playing BINGO and casino slot machines. Mrs. Day is survived by a son, Kevin Day, a brother Robert (Jean) Fooks and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Donald Day, whom she married on Oct. 11, 1952, a sister Margaret (Vince) Butterworth and a brother Carl (Alice) Fooks. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Huskey Cemetery, Niagara Hospice, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York, Lockport Meals on Wheels or the charity of one&amp;#39;s choice. <h3>Services</h3> A graveside service will be held at a later date.
