Gene B. Pickles passed away Saturday August 3, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Lockport on May 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Nellie Payne Pickles. Gene served in the US Navy from 1957 until 1960; and worked at Simonds Saw and Steel, which later became Guteral, for 17 years, he then went to work at American Brass in Buffalo as a roll grinder, for 20 years, retiring in 2002. Gene is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia M. (nee Stopa) Pickles of Lockport; his children, MCPON. G. Brian (Cathy) Pickles of Jacksonville, FL. and Jennifer L. (Joseph) Baker of Lockport. He is also survived by his grandchildren James Pickles, Amber Brown, Kristine Baker and Jena (Joseph) Radowsky and great grandson Joseph Radowsky. Brother of Bonnie Coco of CA. and the late Ronald and Richard Pickles; brother in-law of Nancy Holly and Lorraine (Carl) Wiltberger, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM. <h3>Visitation</h3> Friends may call Wednesday 3 to 7 PM. <h3>Services</h3> Services will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM at the funeral home.
